Project Summary
The discovery phase involved in-depth research to understand the user landscape and the transition from an NFT marketplace to an AI content creation platform. Desk research explored market trends in AI image generation and user needs. Stakeholder interviews provided valuable insights into LimeWire's vision for the Image Studio. User research played a central role. Surveys gauged user interest in AI-generated images and desired functionalities. Usability testing with existing design tools revealed user behavior and pain points during image creation. Finally, competitive analysis of leading AI image generation platforms identified strengths and weaknesses in their user interfaces and experiences.
What are the problems?
LimeWire was initially known as a digital marketplace for NFTs, but the platform needed to expand its offerings and grow user engagement. The challenge was to create an intuitive platform that allowed users to generate unique AI-driven content (images and music) while also integrating blockchain elements like LimeWire tokens. The primary pain point was enabling non-technical users to create high-quality AI assets without a steep learning curve, all while enhancing platform utility and increasing overall engagement.
Approach & Design Process
In this section, I outline the iterative approach taken to design LimeWire's AI Studio, from initial research to final product delivery. Using Figma, I crafted wireframes, prototypes, and a comprehensive design system to ensure consistency and scalability. Each iteration incorporated user feedback and data, refining the platform for optimal user experience. Below is an embedded Figma file, showcasing the key stages of the design process and the evolution of the AI Studio interface.
Highlights
An end-to-end strategic design blueprint for an enhanced user experience, consistent interface, market expansion, and customer engagement.
Key Metrics
Design Guide
The modular design system for LimeWire AI Studio allowed for faster updates and easier maintenance as the product scaled by creating reusable components such as buttons, input fields, and layouts. Each component was standardized, ensuring that design changes could be made centrally and applied across the platform, reducing the need for redesigns from scratch.
Conclusion
By leveraging a user-centered, iterative design process and implementing a flexible design system, I helped LimeWire transition from an NFT marketplace to an AI-driven content platform, significantly boosting engagement and user satisfaction. This project showcases my ability to tackle complex challenges, streamline design processes, and deliver impactful solutions.
